So who is Jon Randles?
When this lands I’ll be in Fiji – yay.
My wife is going to be joining my business (you’ll meet her another time) so we’re doing some planning.
But it was also time to get in some R&R after speaking at the first-ever BNI National Conference which was huge. I’ve also been revisiting my own business origin story, and working with clients who are finally seeing the power of simplifying and focusing.
Three reminders stood out.
Who you surround yourself with matters.
Being part of the BNI conference was really powerful. When we’re in a room with good people who get what it’s like to carry the weight of a business – we don’t feel so alone.
That kind of community doesn’t just support us… it stretches us. And we all need that from time to time.
What you focus on matters.
Most business owners I meet aren’t lazy. But they are overloaded.
And the hard truth is that not all effort leads to results. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the right things – in the right order – at the right time.
Clarity isn’t fluffy. It’s fuel.
And your story matters too.
It’s easy to think we need to have it all together to lead, pitch, or grow. But often, the messy, scrappy, honest version of how we got here is the one people lean into.
That’s what I shared in a recent video – the real story of how I went from driving trucks, to burning out, to finally being part of a business that works.
