Don’t Fear Debt. Understand It.

There’s a bit of a theme running through this week’s email, even if it shows up in three very different ways: the things we invest in as business owners only work when we understand what they’re really doing for us.

  1. Debt can be a useful tool when it is tied to a clear plan, sensible numbers, and a business model that can actually support it, but it becomes stressful pretty quickly when it is treated like something to fear, ignore, or vaguely hope will sort itself out.

  2. Networking is much the same, because the value is rarely in collecting more business cards or forcing awkward conversations, but in putting yourself in the right rooms often enough that real relationships, trust, and opportunities have a chance to grow.

  3. And marketing is probably the simplest example of all, because you can spend good money getting your message in front of people, but if they cannot read it, understand it, or remember why it matters, then the spend is doing a lot less work than you think.

So this week is really about being more intentional with the things we put time, money, and energy into, whether that is how we fund growth, who we spend time with, or how clearly we communicate what we do.

Cheers,

Jon

Do This Instead of Fearing Debt

Business growth is not just about doing more, earning more, or working harder.

In this episode of the Ways to Wealth Podcast, I share how I went from six figures in debt to building a six-figure bank balance, and the mindset shifts, systems, and strategies that helped me get there.

If you’re a business owner who feels busy but not financially ahead, this conversation offers practical insights on building a more profitable and sustainable business.

Join Us at Lads Who Lunch

Not every networking event needs to feel like speed dating with business cards.

Some of the best conversations I’ve had have happened over lunch, with no agenda, a decent bit of food, and a couple of cheeky beers.

Once again I’m sponsoring the upcoming Lads Who Lunch event put on by the Great & Powerful Anna Jobsz and team.

This time we’re taking over Soul Bar on Wednesday 12th August… Read More

Is Your Message Being Seen?

Recently, I saw a plane flying over the CBD, dragging a message behind it.

I assume the message was important.

After all, it would’ve cost a fair bit to get a plane in the air.

Especially with fuel prices.

Especially aviation fuel.

But I couldn’t read the bloody thing. It was just a bit too small. Just a bit too far away… Read More
