Using Financial Statements to Your Advantage
This week’s theme is: getting out of your own way.
Three conversations kept coming up with clients recently – and funnily enough, they became the three posts in this newsletter.
First, the numbers.
Most owners glance at their financial statements but don’t really use them. In the first post, I break down how your balance sheet and income statement can become tools – not mysteries – and why understanding them stops you from flying blind.
Second, the noise.
We all have that loud, annoying task screaming for attention… and we assume doing it will help us. Sometimes it does – but it rarely moves the business forward. The second post shows a simple daily plan that cuts through the noise and forces clarity on what actually matters.
And finally: your thing.
A workshop moment reminded me that most of us underestimate what we’re genuinely good at. We forget the reps we’ve put in. We forget the craft. The third post is a nudge to reconnect with that because the business grows fastest when you lean into your strengths, not your gaps.
If any of these hit close to home, you’re not alone. Most business owners I meet are working hard – they just need clearer signals on where to focus.
Have a read, take what helps, and if you want to chat about making next year smoother, sharper, and more profitable, you know where to find me.
Cheers,
Jon Randles

The Simple Daily Plan That Moves Your Business
Ever thought, “I just need to get this thing done so I stop thinking about it”?
That’s the wrong move.
The task yelling the loudest in your head isn’t always the one that matters.
In the cold light of day, it might be urgent but not important.
Clearing it feels good, but it won’t move the business.
Here’s what to do instead.

What’s Your Thing?
Recently, I ran a workshop. During it one of the participants said,
“You’re a really good facilitator.”
“Thanks” I said “well, yeah… I should be. I’ve been doing this for…”
And I thought about how long I’ve been running workshops and training sessions.
Was it 10 years? 15 years?
And then I realised… Read More
